
Safaricom introduces credit facility

Safaricom, Kenya's largest mobile operator yesterday announced that it would offer credit facilities to its long-term subscribers.
Business Daily reports the new service will offer pre-paid subscribers a top up of Sh50 which will later be deducted from the user's next top up.
Michael Joseph, Safaricom CEO said the new service is for users who cannot access airtime or those in an emergency.
The concept is part of a number of value added services intended to help Safaricom maintain is market share as competition in the telecommunications sector increases.
