Nation Media Group launches digital division

As newspaper circulation figures come under pressure, Kenya's Nation Media Group (NMG) is looking towards the internet and mobile phones to diversify its revenue sources, Business Daily reports.

NMG chief executive officer, Linus Gitahi says that the media industry is going digital and that his company intends to operate in this space.

The company recently established a digital division to harness the opportunities that the internet and mobile phones present.

Gitahi added that although the traditional newspaper industry in East Africa is still strong, it will come under threat in the future and that NMG will need to be responsive.
