Turkish industrialist, Mr Ahmet Calik has agreed to invest in fertilser and textile manufacturing plants in Kenya.
Calik said that because of high import costs, no country can moderniae and grow its agriculture sector without manufacturing its own fertiliser.
During discussions with Calik, Kenya's Vice President, Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka urged the businessman to establish textile manufacturing facilities in Nairobi in order to encourage the local production of cotton. Kenya's cotton industry has declined significantly over the past years.
