UK firm, Tullow Oil, has found oil in Kenya. It discovered in excess of 20 metres net oil-pay at the Ngamia-1 exploration well in Turkana country, situated in north-west Kenya.

The company will commence drilling of multiple wells to establish the commercial viability of the oil, which has similar properties to the light waxy crude discovered in Uganda.

Kenya joins Uganda and Tanzania in the list of potential oil producing countries in Africa.
